![]() ![]() From what I understand, in Canada, those will require the T-slot 20A gfcis. I have two 20A 120V circuits that each feed duplex receptacles only. As far as i know there is no problem having a 15 amp receptacle on a 20 amp circuit that is properly run using 12 gauge wire. Ok to install 15A duplex gfcis on at least the two outlets adjacent to sink?ĭon't know order in which lights & bathroom outlet are wired, but there is just one duplex receptacle in bathroom coming off 15A fuse on main panel (that serves lighting in bathroom and adjacent office) There are other outlets fed separately that are well away from sink. Electrical plugs designated as 20-amp will not fit into 15-amp outlets. Appliances, such as microwaves, often have 20-amp plugs and must be plugged into a 20-amp outlet. I checked kitchen and it has dedicated 15A service from 15A breakers on a subpanel to the two outlets on either side of sink as well as to one on opposite side counter (narrow galley type kitchen). 20-amp receptacles have a horizontal slot branching off one of the vertical slots. If you actually need 15 amps (thats kinda alot for an accessory) you may want to go straight to the battery with a fuse holder that is rated for 20 or 25 or 30 amps. It said max 10 amp because that is the wire size that was used when making the tap. Have another project - we have no gfcis in one bathroom and kitchen. You stick it in where theres an existing fuse and it gives you a live wire.
